NCPA 7th Annual Summer Open House

Many thanks to Hanson Pipe, Wakefield, RI for hosting our 7 th Annual Summer Open House and Expo, on June 16, 2006.

Attending the expo were 120 representatives of precast concrete manufacturers, associates and engineers. It was a nice summer day with many of our associate members exhibiting their latest technology under the outside exposition tent.

As part of the event, door prizes and raffle prizes were given to guests, and a buffet lunch was provided. In addition, Hanson personnel conducted periodic guided tours of the pipe manufacturing facility. The Wakefield plant is one of 110 pipe and precast plants operated by Hanson Building Products, a division of Hanson PLC, one of the world's largest heavy building materials companies.

John Higgins, our new Executive Director was introduced to the members. John Higgins had retired from the MADEP office after 20 years of service. He was responsible for the enforcement of state statutes and regulations that protect public health and the environment. He is currently the VP of Northeast Environmental Corporation. His responsibilities include permitting and technical assistance to clients on water quality and wastewater issues.
